Get to know me, plus a fun fact!
Hello, my name is Elise,
I am a birth doula located in the Ulster County area. I am a follower of Christ. He blessed me with an amazing family which I will be eternally grateful for. I married my high-school sweetheart and together we have two precious children. I wanted to become a doula because I loved learning about pregnancy and birth leading up to my eldest child's delivery, although that birth experience was scary. My son needed to come out via c section.
Fast forward to my next pregnancy, I ended up hiring a birth doula for my second labor. Even though it did end in another c section, I am so grateful for my doula's support. I want to be able to help moms enjoy their birth experience and to feel proud of themselves no matter how or where they deliver. Some things that I like to do in my spare time are enjoying different arts, and figure skating.
I also love fun facts! One of my future goals is to offer my doula services for prison inmates because I believe they should have the opportunity to have a supported birth experience too.
Did you know that the word "doula" originates from the Greek language meaning "Woman servant"?
The Bible talks about using your gift to serve others. Supporting women during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period is a way I can use what God has given me to serve others. To God be the Glory!
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in various forms."
1 Peter 4:10

Fun Fact!
Did you know that elephants are some of the few species of animal to support each other during pregnancy and labor? They will circle around the laboring mother to protect her and the baby while also giving her privacy. Hence where the inspiration for my logo originated.
